- We will provide clear and honest information about our professional qualifications and expertise and will accurately represent those qualifications in communications and in promotional materials.
- We will keep all client information confidential except in very exceptional and specific circumstances where we are obliged by law to disclose such information.
- Irrespective of who instructs us or pays for our services, we will always maintain the confidentiality of our client i.e., the person with whom we are working and who is receiving the benefit of our professional help.
- We will only undertake work within the areas of our expertise, abilities and competence. If and when appropriate, we will invite clients to seek other forms of professional help.
- We will communicate in advance all terms and conditions to clients, including fees, expenses, likely methods of working and cancellation policies.
- We will disclose to clients information regarding existing or potential commercial gains from recommending specific goods or services.
Ts & Cs
Apotheosis provides advice and encouragement in good faith in the decluttering and organising process. Apotheosis can therefore accept no responsibility for actions of the client. It is always your decision to accept guidance on whether or not to keep particular possessions. Apotheosis cannot accept responsibility for the consequences of such decisions. As Apotheosis are not valuers of art or other items of special value or rarity, clients are advised to seek their own valuations of any items.
Apotheosis always handles goods belonging to customers with great care. Unfortunately, accidents may occur. In the case of accidental damage or loss, howsoever caused, the client acknowledges that Apotheosis will not be held liable for losses or damage. We rely on you to carry insurance at all times which adequately compensates you for losses or damage howsoever caused by us in our capacity as your agent. We hold a public liability and professional indemnity insurance of £1 million.
Removal of Items/Green Policy
We aim to promote recycling of your possessions wherever suitable and can offer advice on different options for appropriate disposal or sale. Any items removed from your property are, in general, done so at your own discretion and by yourself. Apotheosis holds no responsibility for items removed from your property with your consent.
Sales of Goods
Items that have been deemed suitable for sale will be removed from your property and held by Apotheosis with your consent and without responsibility to Apotheosis. Sales prices will be mutually agreed between Apotheosis and the client. If sold via the Internet, suitable and appropriate platforms will be used and items will be offered for sale for a maximum of one week unless otherwise agreed in advance. All unsold items will be donated to charity after one week. All monies received from sales will be held on account for a maximum of 3 months and will be used in lieu of payment of future sessions and services. If no such sessions are required, a bank transfer can be requested.
Limits of Work
We will do all we can to help you achieve the state of organisation and tidiness you desire. However, please note that we do not provide a cleaning or removal service. We will not attempt any seriously heavy moving (e.g. a refrigerator). Any large or heavy items that need removing will require a third party. We are happy to find and recommend removal companies, odd job men and cleaning services that can assist in the decluttering and organising process. A risk assessment will be carried out prior to the start of the session and, if deemed unsafe, we will withdraw our services immediately until necessary protections are put in place.
Access & Travel Expenses
If you engage us to work at a particular location and access is restricted, we reserve the right to charge for the lost time and expenses.
Apotheosis is based in Bristol, any assignments within a 15 mile radius are taken as ‘local’. We happily accept assignments beyond this area across the south of England and Wales, including London. Depending on the need for booked transport, parking fees, congestion charges or extended distances, we may need to add surcharges for travel expenses. These will be discussed in advance and added to the invoice where relevant.
Breaks & Hours
Decluttering can be particularly emotionally draining and we advise you to take breaks. We will help you declutter at your own pace although guiding you with our expertise. We require a 30 minute break for any sessions lasting five or six hours. Working hours will be calculated from the time we arrive at your home or premises until the time we leave. Any time required for disposing of items will be added on to the invoice. We are also available evenings and Saturdays by appointment and do not charge extra for ‘out of hours’ work.
To secure our services, a deposit of 50% (single session) or 25% (package) of the cost is required at the time of booking. The deposit must be paid within 14 days of the date of the booking confirmation and no later than 3 days before the start of the assignment. The deposit will be forfeited if less than 48 hours’ notice of cancellation is given before the agreed start time.
If we need to cancel our agreement for any reason, we will let you know as soon as possible and we will endeavour to re-schedule the assignment to a date convenient to both parties. If this is not possible or if it is unacceptable to you, we will refund your deposit in full.
Charges for our services will be levied per day and parking charges will be added if applicable. The invoice is payable in full on completion of the first session, in cash, PayPal or bank transfer using the bank details shown on the invoice. Interest at 10% per month will be charged on any balance due which remains unpaid 45 days after invoice.
Both you and we have the right to cancel booked sessions due to unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances. If you are able to give us at least two working days notice we can re-schedule our appointment. In the event of cancellation by the customer less than 48-hours before the agreed start time, we will charge a cancellation fee of 50% of the day rate. Travel charges or further expenses paid in advance for which we cannot obtain refunds are not refundable in any circumstances, and will be invoiced to you at the time of cancellation.
Confidentiality & Privacy
If you agree, we would also like to take “before-and-after”photographs. These, and written testimonials, will only be reproduced for publicity purposes with your consent.
